NEWS! We are delighted to share that the Graphic Medicine International Conference 2024, hosted at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) in July, has received a Fáilte Ireland Conference Ambassador Recognition Award. More info here.

Fáilte Ireland has honoured the outstanding contributions of 109 sector leaders at the biennial Conference Ambassador Recognition Awards held at The Royal Dublin Society on Thursday 27 November.  These leading academics and industry experts, known as conference ambassadors, were celebrated for hosting international conferences in Ireland between 2023 and 2024, and collectively generating almost €117 million for the Irish economy. 2024 GMIC Award

Nervosa by Hayley Gold from Street Noise Books won the long-form GMIC Award, with an honorable mention going to Manon Debaye‘s graphic novel The Cliff (translated by Montana Kane) from Drawn & Quarterly. Our short-form award (28 pages or fewer) went to Elaine M. Will’s self-published anxiety minicomic Spiral Sessions. The physical awards were designed and fabricated in the TUS campus maker lab by Dr. Clodagh Reid and Ronan Dunbar.
