Note: We will be following the University of Chicago COVID policies and procedures during the conference. Bottom line: MASKS OVER THE NOSE AND MOUTH ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED AT ALL TIMES WHILE INDOORS. Social distancing is encouraged. COVID is not over for any of us, but those who are immunocompromised are at higher risk of serious illness. As a community we can do our part to make our conference safe.

Presenters are responsible for costs associated with their session (e.g. handouts and supplies) and personal expenses (travel, hotel, and registration fees.) All presenters and attendees must register for the conference, whether remote or in-person. Disability accommodations will be made available by request email us at GMChicago22@gmail.com with details) and all venues will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

    Hi,

I am Jennifer, a PhD student in the Department of English, Morgan State University, Maryland. My thesis was on Concealment and Ambiguities in Medical Discourse. I want to see how I can explore graphic comics for my dissertation. Can I attend the conference without making a presentation this year?

Hi – we don’t have grants for the conference, but we will have sliding scale rates. Hope that helps.

Hi, I am a clinical psychologist and neuroscientist. I’m new to graphic medicine and love it.
I have fleshed out concept, but need help with story telling and drawing. Will there be opportunities to find collaborators? Will there be how-to workshops regarding how to turn a set of related concepts into an coherent piece?
    Thank you!

Hello! I am a parent of a medically complex child who has gotten interested in graphic novels that explain medical issues, and I came across this conference. We happen to live in Chicago. Are there any opportunities for a precocious 8 year old to connect if we were to come?
