Brighton Conference – Final Programme

This conference is going to be GREAT!

The link for registration is HERE.

Here, for your scrutiny, is an updated programme of events, which – last minute tweaks notwithstanding – shows the final shape of the conference. Please include #GM2019 in your tweets, Instagram posts, etc.!

The conference is being held at two venues, a five-minute walk apart. The evening events will be held at the Phoenix Arts Centre, and the daytime programming at the Sallis Benney Theatre.

Both venues are in central Brighton, and surrounded by history. They are close to many restaurants, bars and cafes and we have allowed long lunch breaks so that delegates can explore the local eateries.

Thursday afternoon evening features our opening event with drinks and a vegetarian buffet at the Phoenix Gallery. Delegates will be welcomed by the Comics Laureate –Hannah Berry.

Friday night features a salon event at the Phoenix, hosted by Myriad Editions: Graphic Medicine Quick Strips. The event is free to conference delegates and also open to the public (ticketed for the latter).

The evening will feature artists Ian Williams, Henny Beaumont, Gareth Brookes, Nye Wright,  Dana Walrath, MK Czerwiec, Paula Knight, Judith Margolis and others. Each artist will have five minutes to discuss and share their work, and the lucky audience can ask questions throughout. The bar will be open until 11pm and there will be plenty of time to mingle and meet other delegates.

If you haven’t had enough by the end of Saturday afternoon, there will also be an after party on the Saturday night, for people staying in town. Venue to be confirmed.
