The deadline for submissions has now passed. The anthology will be debut at the conference on June 15th and will be available for free while supplies last.
This year’s Comics and Medicine Conference is seeking original comics on issues broadly related to health access and accessibility for a comics newspaper anthology that will debut at the conference in Seattle this June. We seek comics that explore topics including, but not limited to, disability, health education among underserved communities, personal or professional experiences with health access, gendered experiences with health access, systemic and structural inequities in health care, mental health, care-taking, politics and health access, and environmental health.
This is an open call and all are welcome to submit comics regardless of whether you plan to attend the conference. Because we aim to distribute the paper free of charge, there is no payment available for artists. However, all published artists will receive a limited number of copies of the paper and have the opportunity to exhibit their original art at the conference.
Although we intend to make space for all submissions that address the conference theme, the editorial team reserves the right to determine whether the content of a submission is suitable for publication.
