Attending the Graphic Medicine 2016 Conference: Stages & Pages?

Would you like to perform from the panels and pages of your comics?

On the stage in front of a live studio audience?

We are looking for presenters for a special Graphic Medicine edition of DeeCAP to take place as part of this year’s conference opening reception. If you have a comic you would like to perform (or even a particularly visual part of your research) then join us for an evening of visual, verbal, musical, costume-al entertainment. Performances are limited to 5-10 minute slots, and limited only by your imagination (although pyrotechnic stunts may be out of the question!)

DeeCAP is short for Dundee Comics Art Performance, and at a DeeCAP show artists and writers bring their strips to life with live interaction alongside a visual slideshow – it’s comics and zine based entertainment at its best! DeeCAP was inspired by R. Sikoryak’s popular Carousel evenings of ‘Cartoon Slide Shows and Other Projected Pictures’ in New York. http://carouselslideshow.com/

Still wondering what the heck Comics/Art/Performance is? Check out this article at comicsforum.org
http://comicsforum.org/2013/08/21/comics-and-performance-from-chalk-talks-to-carousel-by-damon-herd/
If you would like to take part, please email us at graphicmedicinedundee@gmail.com with a brief description of what you might like to do, including any technical requirements, and some examples of (or links to) artwork. Please note we are limited to 10-12 performers for this event so we may not be able to accommodate everyone who wishes to take part.
