Our end of February Drawing Together was led by the legendary Lynda Barry! Lynda is an Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Creativity at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Barry was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship as part of the Class of 2019 and in July 2016, she was inducted into the Eisner Hall of Fame. Her most recent book is Making Comics.
It would be impossible to summarize or accurately describe all that Lynda brought to our session, so, with her permission, we’re posting it in its entirety for you to enjoy and play along. Come for the drawing, stay for the music and dancing. It was a terrific session and we are incredibly grateful to Lynda for creating it for us.
And for those of you who have asked, Lynda also shared her custom playlist for the event!
On March 12, GMIC board member Dana Walrath led the group on a follow-up session to Lynda’s invigorating event. We re-created a few of the exercises, discussed Lynda’s work, and took the opportunity to share some of our work from the previous session.
