Annotation: Aliceheimer’s is a mixed media comic centering around Dana Walrath’s mother, Alice. Walrath dives into her experiences with her mother, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s. The reader sees the human side of Alice and Dana. Walrath explores her mother’s cognition as if it were a different culture, because it is an alternate worldview. She seeks to understand reality as her mother sees it. “What year is it?” is one question she asks Alice, honestly curious to know the answer. The book is beautiful and evocative.
