Ian Williams is a doctor of medicine and comics creator under the pseudonym Thom Ferrier. He coined the term Graphic Medicine and set up the website to serve as a resource on the convergence of comics and medicine.
Simon Moreton is doctor of human geography and comics creator under the name Smoo. He also established the better, drawn site which features,“Comics drawn by people with experience of living with long-term mental and physical illnesses.”
Together they spoke to Shelley Wall‘s students in the Biomedical Communcations program at the University of Toronto. Shelley introduces Ian and Simon in this talk.
