Two great new presentations have content available online. First, video from “The Messy Work of Making a Visual Medium Accessible: Tactics for Audio Describing Unflattening” with Nick Sousainis.
And second, Erin Fitzgerald shared the slides from her presentation, “Graphic Medicine and Universal Design: Using Graphic Arts to Reduce Barriers in Healthcare.”
A new review on the site:
Retrospective Review of Horrible Histories: Anarchic Bodies and Healing in the Classroom

Omg, thank you! I am a fan of graphic medicine, but my eyes, and my partner’s eyes made me realize that sometimes these comics/graphics are going to need…. Alt text, or an option to view a typed text version of dialogue…. I love hand drawn text, and creative positioning of text, really, and do not want to deter artists from using that, but in the context of graphic medicine as tool or resource, or simply reaching a wider audience, readability and accessibility needs to be an option too. Thanks for sharing this!
