The graphic medicine community is ever-growing, international, and multidisciplinary. It includes people who attend our conferences, participate in our global online community, and have a vested interest in the world of comics and health – from physicians to cartoonists, anthropologists to librarians, and everyone in between and beyond. While this is a fabulous thing, it does mean that even with an organizing group and website team representing a range of fields, we can’t possibly be experts and good liaisons to everyone. That’s where the Graphic Medicine Liaison Program comes in.
Our liaisons are here to serve people in their home areas who are interested, or who might soon be interested, in graphic medicine. Each liaison manages a home page for their field to introduce how it intersects with graphic medicine, as well as a bit about themselves. Our initial program, launched in Spring 2021, covers ten fields with an active presence in graphic medicine and with experts eager to share their knowledge. You’ll find links to their pages below. If you are a newcomer to graphic medicine and see your field below, this is going to be your best place to start!
If you don’t see your field represented, please let us know about your interest in seeing a page for it – we hope to expand this program over time.
