Spotlight: Bill Harvey

The world NEEDS HUMOR in these troubled times. Humor can lift the burden of worry, if even for a moment. Covid and quarantine have embedded themselves into my subconscious, and my work.

I’m Bill Harvey –  Age 65.  Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit.  I discovered superhero comic books at age six, and was hooked.  I wanted to draw them, write them, tell stories of heroes and villains, of drama, conflict, and romance.  Wanting to make comics didn’t make it so.  After decades of rejection letters from industry leaders, I was left with only scarred ambition and a sense of humor. So, I turned to newspaper style comic strips, where one-liners can define the fine line between success and failure.  Now, I do a single panel comic strip titled THE ODDs, featuring married seniors Tad and Elmira Odd.

Themes in my work include married life, the workplace, the  economy, clowns, clones, robots, and more. MORE samples at my site:  www.beholdcomics.com. If anyone is interested in using any of the panels, or if there is a human interest piece…one hook would be how artists and writers incorporate Covid into their work….please get in touch via my website.
We shelter in humor, there we fortify.
