Congratulations Janice!
You are doing great work in helping people understand chronic illness. Your daughter is a lucky girl to have a mother who has such understanding and empathy of her situation.
❤️🙏👏
Jan We just read your entire comic. Being Le’s Bubbie & Zaidy we have shared the frustrations and succcesses throughout the years.
Never give up. Your comic highlights your determination to help your daughter deal with her chronic challenges.
Janice, this is so beautiful! Congratulations!
Women and girls seem especially vulnerable to medical gaslighting. Thank you for presenting the problem in such a clear way. The medical world seems knowledgable in many conditions, but if someone has something less than common, they are often dismissed AND Soooo much is not really understood yet. A good health professional will explain to the patient that the problem is real, but it might take time to figure it out completely, and refer them to someone who can help. Healthcare providers are caught in a time crunch and may not have time to do a thorough differential diagnosis. Then there are the ones who make a habit of gaslighting and dismissing people’s experiences. Sadly.
SAW classes are great, I love your work. This will be a great book. Can’t wait to read it!
Thank you so much!
Well done! Both you and your daughter!
Janice this is so well done and sadly so true.
This is such a cool comic and good way to explore the lingering effects of medical gaslighting… I’m glad your daughter is getting appropriate care now, but ack! Such a long journey.
What a moving testament to your and your daughter’s commitment to receiving appropriate care. I wish it had not been so difficult to access in the first place.
Janice well done.
What a story – so well presented in this format. It resonated with me as a mom having had some challenges with our daughter and her medical care.
Such a long frustrating and worrisome journey you both have had. Thankfully a diagnosis was found with your persistence and commitment to getting answers. Sadly it had to take so long.
Thank you Petra!
