Sine Akten is a respected nephrologist, graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is currently practicing medicine in New York City. Sine is also a painter in watercolor, merging with ink by a different and unique technique, and an emerging art director. She graduated from New York Film Academy in the field of Film Making. Sine realizes the importance of blending art and science and she is a living example of how the two domains actually convergence. She believes in a beauty that can represent itself in every facades of life. She recently graduated from Harvard ‘Media and Medicine’ program to get her patient stories appealed by her community in Brooklyn and Istanbul. She published two books related to her patient stories where she could use her writing abilities in fiction. She is working on her new novel while she is establishing the foundation of ‘Narrative Medicine’ in her hometown. She has been in Stanford University for her literature MA degree preparation, planned for upcoming year. She believes that art can create a hub for people coming from different values and cultures. Medicine needs to be a solid root for them. She is in a group of Trestle Art Studio, attending to several exhibitions.
