I’m a Dutch illustrator, diabetic, and my girlfriend has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. We use humor and comics to tell about our adventures in hospitals and about our illness. I believe drawing is a perfect way to encapsulate these little moments and reflect on them, giving us a way to communicate about everything that happened and how we felt at that time. We hope readers can relate and find the same humor in it that made us smile getting trough those days.

Fantastic work! I can really relate as I drew my way through my many many medical adventures and crisis with my late husband
I am currently working on a book proposal regarding using Art to Navigate Tough Medical Moments
Thank you Anita! Art, drawing, and for me, making comics is indeed such a strong way to help one deal with all kind of medical adventures. I think reflecting and looking back at ‘what just happened??’ is one of the strongpoints. Hope more people can relate and find a way to deal with these challenges. Where can we find updates about your book? 🙂
I love this!
Thanks Margreet! 🙂
