Our latest Spotlight on projects and people within the Graphic Medicine international community focuses on a new horror comic made by medical illustration student Becca Lewis.
My name is Becca Lewis, I am a medical illustration student at Rochester Institute of Technology, and I have been working in a cadaver lab for the last semester, learning in depth anatomy of the human body.
I am so grateful for my time in this lab, and thus was inspired to make a horror comic commemorating it.
My big passions are nature, theater, and anatomy, and I am originally from the mountains of Colorado. In the future, I want to create more accessible studying materials for visual learners in the surgical field: comics, zines, and informational packets that engage the patients/students.

Wow! Becca and I seem to both have some many similar interests and share a bit of histories. (As an example, I have an extensive history with cadaver labs and taught graphic medicine classes at RIT a number of years ago.) Love her comics style! I’m also very interested in body horror as a graphic medicine sub-category. So engaging! Now I’m on my way to her website!
