Hi Graphic Medicine fans! My name is Darya Foroohar and I am a member of the National Humanities Leadership Council currently writing my final research paper on the use of nonfiction comics in education. I’m looking for graphic novel fans like yourselves to help me with my research.

While comics have slowly become more accepted as mainstream literature, nonfiction comics still have a lot of untapped potential. I am interested in what makes nonfiction comics compelling to youth and adult readers, and how this medium can be utilized to encourage these readers to learn more about the world around them. As a lot of misconceptions about comics come from a lack of exposure, I would be interested in learning about your experiences with comics in the classroom, how your friends view comics, and how you got into the comics scene. If you’d like to help me add to my data pool, fill out this survey I sincerely appreciate it, and will hopefully make a comic summarizing my findings after the technical paper gets published. If you have any questions or want to learn more about me and my work, you can email me at daryaff02@gmail.com or go to my website, daryafarah.wordpress.com. Thanks!
