Sayia Miller and her colleagues created Not Your Mother’s Meatloaf to be an ongoing, non-heteronormative  sexual education zine. Issues each have a theme and are available free online or in book stores and comic shops that carry zines. Sayia says on her masthead, “THIS PROJECT IS AN ATTEMPT TO CHALLENGE HETERO AND GENDER NORMATIVE PRACTICES IN SEXUALITY EDUCATION. WE’RE HOLDING AN OPEN CALL FOR ILLUSTRATORS AND WRITERS TO SUBMIT 1-4P VIGNETTES ON SEX ED. TOPICS (LIKE SAFER SEX, CONSENT, ETC) FROM LGBTQ FRIENDLY POSITIONS. WANT TO LEARN MORE? EMAIL US AT: NOTYOURMOTHERSMEATLOAF@GMAIL.COM.”
