Matthew’s Pick of the Week…
No pick this week, but an important bit of news: This Week in Graphic Medicine will be on hiatus, after this issue, until August. I announced this on Twitter yesterday as well. The primary reason for the break is that I am both taking time off and doing a great deal of travel in the next month-and-a-half, so finding a chance to do the post will be impossible. I hope to see many of you in Brighton – and library folks, if you’re at ALA in DC, let me know and we should say hi in person!
As with past breaks – such as during last year’s conference season – it is important to note that I do not backlog when I come back. As hard as that would have been in year’s past, it is doubly so now as every couple of months TWIGM gets longer and longer as more people join the community and engage in work around the field. What this means is that I highly suggest following along with the #GraphicMedicine tag on both Twitter and Instagram, as well as joining the Graphic Medicine group on Facebook and following the GM account on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I’d encourage you to do these things anyway, but especially while these posts aren’t happening – I will still be sharing/tagging things on social media and so will many, many others. This way you can keep up even while TWIGM is on a break!
There will still be regular postings on this site – including our new spotlight series – and I will try to do an ALA recap if I come across enough GM for an entire post. As always, you can find me on Twitter (and Facebook if you like). See you in August if I don’t see you before then!
